World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship
The 2018 World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship will start on March at Club de Golf Chapultepec, and will feature top players from around the world.
Some of golf's best
players have emerged victorious during the tournament's
eight-year history. Woods counts six victories in this
tournament among his 15 World Golf Championships titles.
He won the inaugural event in 1999 at Valderrama in
Spain and followed that up
with victories in 2002 in Ireland, in 2003 and 2005 in
the United States, 2006 in London and earlier this year
at Doral Golf Resort & Spa. In 2000, Canadian Mike Weir
captured the title, and in 2004, Els of South Africa
triumphed.
The World Golf Championships - WGC-Mexico Championship will
have an $9,750,000 million purse, with the game's top players
competing for the $1.35 million first-place prize and
the Gene Sarazen Cup. One of three World Golf
Championships events, the WGC-Mexico Championship will feature
the top-30 players from the final FedExCup point
standings, the top-50 players from the Official World
Golf Ranking the week prior and the week
of the event, the top-10 players from the FedExCup point
standings the week prior and the week of the event,
along with leaders of the Official Money Lists/Orders of
Merit from the European Tour, Australasian Tour, Japan
Golf Tour, Asian Tour and Sunshine Tour.
The Championships will
feature the top 50 players from the Official World Golf
Ranking along with top finishers on the money lists of
six Tours comprising the International Federation of PGA
Tours (PGA TOUR, European Tour, Australasian Tour, Japan
Golf Tour, Asian Tour and Southern Africa Tour).
The championships
currently consists of this event, the Bridgestone
Invitational, the
Accenture Match Play Championship
and the World Cup.

Ogilvy wins CA Championship
With a trusty wedge and a steady
hand, Ogilvy closed out the weather-suspended final
round of the CA Championship with nine straight pars
Monday morning to score a wire-to-wire victory. |
He didn't just end Woods' run of seven consecutive
worldwide victories and five straight PGA Tour wins. He
held off three other major-championship winners closing
in on him.
With a final-round one-under-par 71, Ogilvy claimed the
$1.35-million first-place check and the Gene Sarazen
Trophy. His 17-under 271 total was a shot better than
three-time major-championship winner Vijay Singh (68),
two-time U.S. Open winner Retief Goosen (68) and U.S.
Open winner Jim Furyk (68).

outcome was never in doubt Sunday, making enough key
putts to keep everyone at a distance and playing it safe
at the end for a 1-over 73 to capture the CA
Championship by two shots.

Tiger Woods has had plenty of success at the Doral Golf
Resort & Spa's Blue Course. In 20 rounds there, he is 74
under, going 31 under on the front nine and 43 under on
the back nine. His lowest 18-hole score was a 63 in the
third round of the 2005 Ford Championship, and his
highest was his 73 today.
Tiger Woods fired a 1-over 73 on Sunday to win the World
Golf Championships-CA Championship by two strokes.
The last time he fired
an over-par score and went on to win was at the 2005 WGC-NEC
Invitational, when he recorded a 1-over 71 at Firestone
Country Club-South Course.
